Learn about FAFC Calgary our story, our mission, and the values that guide everything we do as a federation.
FAFC Calgary is a federation of legally established African francophone nonprofit organizations operating in Calgary.
We exist because many organizations serve their communities effectively, yet often in isolation. FAFC Calgary was created to provide the structure, coordination, and collective voice needed to amplify impact across the entire community.
Incorporated under the Alberta Societies Act, FAFC operates through a member-based governance model — ensuring that decision-making reflects the real needs and priorities of our member organizations.
Many organizations serve their communities effectively, yet often in isolation. This fragmentation reduces collective influence, limits access to opportunities, and weakens long-term sustainability.
FAFC Calgary exists to create structure, coordination, and collective strength — transforming isolated efforts into a powerful, unified ecosystem that serves the entire African francophone community.
We bring organizations together under one structured framework — aligning efforts, amplifying voices, and creating pathways for sustainable growth and lasting community impact across Calgary.
We envision an African francophone community in Calgary that is well-organized, widely recognized, and positioned to influence the decisions, policies, and partnerships that shape its future.
Working together across organizations, cultures, and communities to achieve collective goals no single entity could reach alone.
Ensuring African francophone voices are present, heard, and meaningfully included in every conversation that shapes community outcomes.
Operating with transparency, accountability, and honesty in every aspect of governance, partnerships, and community engagement.
Focusing every program, initiative, and partnership on measurable, tangible outcomes that improve the lives of community members.
The Board is composed of representatives appointed by each member organization.
Each community has a structured representation through its designated delegate.
